Where tonight’s story comes from

Every scene, choice and ending comes from a fixed, reviewed library. The site combines those pieces for the date, and nothing is improvised while your child reads. Release checks reject missing branches, scenes below a minimum length, unknown placeholders and terms on a defined safety list.

Choosing a path

Each of the six worlds has three choices, with two options at each turn. That makes eight tellings leading to four distinct endings, and each telling takes about five minutes to read aloud. There is no violence. The stories aim for gentle suspense and a warm ending: fog might hide the path, or a door might open with a shy creak. There is no timer and no wrong choice, so you can pause to talk over a decision.

What stays in this browser

The hero’s name, reading record and unfinished path stay in this browser’s local storage so a reload can restore them. The titled story pages add one more thing: a name and a pronoun (she, he or they) you can set there to personalize that story. There are no accounts, analytics or tracking, and the site never transmits anything you type. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes all of it.

When tonight begins

The library makes its nightly selection by your device’s local date, which rolls over at your own midnight. Every family gets the same world, companion, keepsake and complication for that date. The hero’s name and the choices you make are your own, so families can compare where their stories went.
