About the library

Choose Your Own Library is an independent library of interactive bedtime stories. The date picks the night’s story. You name the hero and make three choices along the way. Each of the six worlds has eight possible tellings and four endings. A telling takes about five minutes to read aloud, with a little suspense before a soft landing.

The scenes, choices and endings all come from a fixed, reviewed library, and nothing is improvised while you read. Everyone gets the same selection on the same local date, and a combination can come back on a later night.

Reading is free. There are no accounts, analytics or tracking, and the site never transmits anything you type. Your hero’s name, reading record and unfinished path stay in this browser’s local storage.

The same publisher also runs Word Game Library for word games, Solitaire Library for cards, and the Dad Joke Museum for a groaner a day. They are free too, with no accounts or tracking.
