Questions people ask
Does everyone get the same story tonight?
Yes. The story is picked by your device’s local date, which changes at midnight where you are, so everyone reading on the same date gets the same world, companion, keepsake and complication. Your hero’s name and choices can differ. A story you already have open does not restart when the date changes.
Where do the stories come from?
From a fixed, reviewed library of scenes, choices and endings. The date picks a combination of those pieces, and the same combination can come back on a later night. Nothing is improvised while you read.
How scary are the stories?
Not very. There is no violence, and the stories aim for gentle suspense and warm endings. Fog or a creaking door can still feel spooky, so read ahead if you are unsure what will suit your child. The site has no accounts and no chat.
How do I try a different path?
After an ending, “Read it differently” starts the same story again so you can make other choices. “Another story” picks a combination from the shelves, and it may be one you have already read. “Back to tonight’s” returns to tonight’s story.
What do the print and share buttons do?
After you reach an ending, “Print the story” opens your browser’s print dialog for the path you read. “Save the card” downloads a PNG with the hero’s name, the ending title and the choice tally. “Share the ending” asks your browser to copy a short summary to the clipboard, and nothing is posted online. Paste it and check it before you share it.
